Behind every number is a young person who

  • Built confidence, emotional resilience, and leadership skills

  • Learned to swim and understand ocean safety

  • Found a positive alternative to risk-filled environments

  • Connected to education, mentorship, and future pathways

Our impact is not just about participation, rather, it’s about lasting change.

2025

  • Program expansion across age groups and genders

  • Formal monitoring & evaluation framework introduced

    Looking Ahead

  • Expansion across the greater Cederberg region

  • Stronger international partnerships through Friends of Project Sunwave

How We Measure Impact

We are committed to data-driven impact, using:

  • Program attendance and participation tracking

  • Skill progression assessments

  • Youth wellbeing and confidence indicators

  • Community and school feedback

Drowning, disengagement from school, and lack of opportunity disproportionately affect youth in under-resourced coastal communities.

By combining water safety, mentorship, and structured development, we address these risks while opening doors to education, wellbeing, and economic opportunity.

This is how we turn access into opportunity & opportunity into impact.
