Spring Auction and Fundraiser Benefiting Project Sunwave & Project Lighten Up

We’ve extended LL’s 6th Annual Birthday Fundraiser Campaign through June 30th!!!

The response has been over the top and since we still have so many cool items available, we thought graduation season and Father’s Day would be the perfect time to keep it going.

We’ve got items and experiences from both Asheville and Lamberts Bay, including Burial Beer,  coffee from Papertown Coffee in Canton,  a gift certificate from 67 Biltmore, along with a stay at Grootvlei Guest Farms in Lamberts Bay, South Africa   Artwork by Lachlan Matthews  and even a music lesson from Northern Michigan!!

These make great gifts for graduates, dads, or anyone special in your life every purchase helps support incredible youth-centered initiatives in Asheville, NC and Lamberts Bay, South Africa, making a real impact through education, mentorship, wellness, and community programming.

As Father’s Day and graduation season approach, it feels like the perfect time to continue celebrating community, growth, and the future of our youth. We’ve already shared so many incredible moments from Asheville and Lamberts Bay, and the impact continues to grow.

Project Lighten Up (Asheville, NC) continues to serve the Shiloh Community at Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Spencer Hardaway.

The Project Lighten Up Academy (PLUA) provides year-round afterschool programming with support from Mars Hill Bonner Scholars, offering students a structured environment to strengthen academic skills and grow personally.

The Project Lighten Up Summer Camp helps address summer learning loss through academics, art, and recreation — keeping youth engaged, learning, and inspired during school breaks.

Project SunWave (PSW), located in Lamberts Bay, South Africa, is transforming lives through ocean therapy, life-skills development, and water safety education. To date, 450 children have completed its drown-proof certification program.

PSW operates five programs, including daily afterschool and Saturday academic support using Cambridge learning, along with full-day school-break programming featuring SUP surfing, ocean therapy, swimming, and water safety.

Thank you to everyone who has supported, shared, donated, or encouraged this campaign so far. If you’re looking for a meaningful way to celebrate this season, take a moment to learn about and uplift these incredible initiatives. Investing in our youth is always worth it.
