Get Project Sunwave to the Beach

Most kids live more than 4km from the ocean. This funds the deposit on a dedicated surf van to close that gap, especially in winter.

Get Project Sunwave To The Beach

Before Project Sunwave, many children in Lamberts Bay had nowhere safe to go after school. No structured activities. No positive role models. Just long afternoons with too much time and too little direction.

This changed when a handful of women decided to do something about it, out of their own pockets, time, and a whole lot of heart.

Now local youth spend their afternoons in the sea. Surfing. Swimming and Nipper training. Building confidence and life skills. Being children. The sea has become their classroom, their playground, and their place of belonging.

Sunwave isn't just an after-school programme. It's a pipeline for confident, capable young people who know they belong somewhere. Getting them there consistently is what makes the difference between a moment and a movement.

The gap? Four kilometres.

Most children live more than 4 km from the beach. That distance determines who can walk there, who actually shows up, and how often they return, especially in winter.

We need a small surf van: a humble vehicle to safely carry children, equipment, and the consistency that turns a programme into a lifeline.

We are raising R30,000 for the deposit.

Give what you can, anything at all, and help turn a humble plan into something these kids will feel for years. The ocean isn't going anywhere. Let's make sure they can get to it.

For full transparency, the vehicle is a Ashok Leyland Dost with a total cost of R276,000. Your support goes directly toward the R30,000 deposit, a very achievable first step to make this a reality.

Nou spandeer plaaslike jongmense hul middae in die see. Brandering.
